Birthday dinner

Beth had both sets of grandparents to celebrate her birthday with her.  She picked Bob Evans and had her usual pancake meal, although I think she ate most of it after she went home with Nini and Papa John.  We will miss her, but I think she will be happy spending time with John and Jan and then going home.  She really misses her sisters!

Beth's visit

We have had fun having Beth visit us this week.  We got pictures of her at the park and with the cake she helped bake.  She directed the decorating of the cake, and I think she did a good job.  All of it was exactly as she told me to do it

Almost done

The patio is done except for the landscaping.  We are excited to have it and are looking forward to using it.  Here are a couple of pictures.  Beth took the one of me, so it is a little fuzzy.

All better

I visited the orthopedist yesterday and he said my arm is OK.  I can do whatever I want!  But I have to start physical therapy to regain motion in my arm.  I go the first time tomorrow.  Yeah!!

Getting closer

The workmen had to take off a couple of days last week, so we didn't see any more progress until Thursday and Friday.  They are almost done.  Here are a couple more pictures.

Golf lessons

Harry was given a gift certificate to Golf Galaxy when he retired from Marathon.  He went over there and bought a used club, but still had lots of money and nothing to buy (unusual for him and golf equipment).  A friend at church was talking about her kids playing golf and it reminded me that Harry has wanted to teach the grandchildren to golf, so I mentioned to him that he could buy some kids clubs with the money.  So Monday he went over and bought a set.  Beth is staying with us for a couple of days, so she had her first putting lesson yesterday afternoon.  Harry is used to teaching adults, so it was different trying to get an almost-six year old to "rock her shoulders" and aim at a target.  It will be fun to see how things go.

Construction day 4

Work on the patio is temporarily at a halt.  The workers came this morning and leveled out the patio and walk ready to put in the sand and pavers, but they were called away for another job and won't be back until Wednesday.  Here is a picture of today's progress.
